The group's activities are principally directed at the enlargement and spread of the philatelic knowledge concerning these areas of collecting. The meetings, the magazine, and the mutual personal contacts play an important role in this process. Most members direct their attention to the stamps, cancels, or the postal history of one or more of the independent countries Estonia, Latvia, or Lithuania of the 1918-1940 period. The level of collecting ranges from "starter" to advancedly specialized, in which the one thing often leads to the other. Initially many collectors were attracted to the Baltic countries because it was a so-called "closed" field of collecting without new issues. This last statement is not true anymore, and while collecting, "closed" appeared a quite relative notion, as the German and Russian periods before 1918 and after 1940 are very interesting in a postal history sense. Activities In order to attain the objectives, enlargement and spread of philatelic knowledge, the club develops a number of activities:
Membership The club does not ballot new members, but we appreciate to make their acquaintances at one of our meetings. The membership dues are EURO 20.- a year.
